CPA, CPM and CPC Calculator

Enter your spend, impressions, clicks and conversions to see CPM, CPC, CPA, CTR and conversion rate on one screen.

How are these metrics calculated?

CPM is spend divided by impressions, multiplied by 1,000. CPC is spend divided by clicks and CPA is spend divided by conversions. CTR is clicks divided by impressions, and conversion rate is conversions divided by clicks.

Which metric should you watch when?

CPM prices your reach, CPC prices your traffic and CPA prices your results. Prioritize CPM for awareness campaigns and CPA for sales campaigns; CTR and conversion rate reveal where efficiency leaks in between.

What are good values?

Benchmarks vary widely by industry, country and platform, so a single threshold would be misleading. The healthiest approach is to benchmark against your own historical averages and read every value alongside your target profitability.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my CPA higher than my CPC?

Not every click converts. CPA works out to CPC divided by conversion rate; with a $2 CPC and a 5% conversion rate, your CPA is $40.

What is the difference between CTR and conversion rate?

CTR shows how many people who saw your ad clicked it, while conversion rate shows how many of those who clicked completed an action like a purchase.
